Alexandra is a cat with a wonderous sense of humor. She hunts the earth seeking a place to call home. Her tiny feet ponder along with great angelic motion her puring a whisper of smooth sound in the night. She is there, behind you listening to your heart beat as you move in and out of the shadows. The question comes to her is this a person I want to follow home or is this a person that is not worthy of my being. Still she follows without your knowledge that she is even there. You can not see her nor have you heard her but she see's you and hear's you. Your mind is elsewhere and not on what you are doing or where you are going for just ahead lies danger.
Alexandra hear's the crispt sounds of the motion up ahead and she spotted the movement in the dark alley ahead. Forward her little paws go with grace and freedom of no sound to peek in the shadows to find out what is happening. There she see's the movement of the crouching in the mist of the shadow of the light about the building, almost unseen he waits, the hunter. She looks back at you the victim.
Should she rescue you, should she just let it go and see what you do? Small sigh's come from deep inside her, a hising sound hopefully you will look down and notice her. But no, nothing you just keep walking so absorbed in your own world you forget about the real one that you are about to face any second.
You, the human that is most likely going to throw her back into the cold, you the human that cares for not much more than your own self, you are too close! Get back, move, lift your head look up.
She pounces on you just as you are about to move into the stillness of the alley way. The swiftness of her movements catch you off guard and as you fall backward you cause a noise. In the shadows he the hunter is alerted and waits, but for what? You are in the process of getting up off the ground as Alexandra circles you and purrrrs into the space around you. What are you saying? You ask: Where did you come from? Another purr, another circle around you, another swift move up into your arms.
She nuzzles at your neck, the warmth makes you smile and you are momentary stunned, as you stand there holding the small furry cat. In the dark of night the hunter is tired of the wait and moves out into the street to hunt for other pray. He spots you there, watching you then he slowly turns to walk away. Under his breath you hear it in the air, the words: that damn cat again. You smile down, you saved me didn't you? Purrrrrrrrrring she meow's softly. What shall I call you? Smiling down, you cuddle the cat and carry her home. She is your cat now, call her Alexandra the Great.
